An elderly gentleman played by Lincoln Maazel goes for what he assumes will be an ordinary day at the amusement park, only to find himself in the midst of a hellish nightmare where he encounters a fortune teller, a marching band, and various forms of elder abuse, including swindling, exploitation, and neglect. As he navigates the surreal and disturbing world of the park, Maazel's character tries to offer assistance to others who are being mistreated, but ultimately becomes disillusioned and broken. The film is a commentary on the mistreatment of elderly people in society, with the amusement park serving as a metaphor for the dehumanizing and isolating effects of ageism.
