The Five-Year Engagement

In San Francisco, sous-chef Tom (Jason Segel) and PhD graduate Violet (Emily Blunt), who are happily engaged, face various challenges in their relationship. When Violet is accepted into a post-doctorate psychology program in Michigan, Tom agrees to move with her and delay their wedding. As years pass, Tom becomes disillusioned and obsessed with hunting, causing tension between the couple, which reaches a climax when Violet kisses her professor Winton Childs, leading to the breakdown of their engagement. Ultimately, Tom realizes his love for Violet and rekindles their relationship after she proposes to him at the side of the road, just as he did five years before.
