The Art of the Steal

"The Art of the Steal" is a documentary film tracing the history of a collection of Post-Impressionist paintings worth billions, whose owner Dr. Albert Barnes died in 1951 and left strict rules against ever moving the collection from its location in Lower Merion Township to Philadelphia. The film presents an account of the claimed breaking of Barnes's will, which it claims was initiated by Philadelphians who were enemies of Barnes while he was alive, and continued by their heirs. Julian Bond, Richard Feigen, Richard H. Glanton, Christopher Knight, and John F. Street appear in the documentary as themselves.
