That Certain Woman

Bette Davis stars as Mary Donnell, a naive young woman who takes a job as a secretary to married attorney Lloyd Rogers (Ian Hunter). Her life is further complicated when she becomes pregnant and elopes with playboy Jack Merrick Jr. (Henry Fonda), but their marriage is later annulled due to disapproval from his family. When Lloyd dies, Mary inherits his estate, leading to a press uproar that exposes her past and sparks a custody battle over the child.
