Breakaway

A young Sikh man from Toronto, Rajvinder Singh, trades his academic ambitions for a chance to pursue professional hockey, despite facing ridicule and disapproval from mainstream players and his own family. He forms a rival team, the Speedy Singhs, with friends who share his passion for the sport, and they eventually win over the hearts of their community and their coach, Dan Winters, through determination and unity. Along the way, Rajvinder finds love and learns to balance his cultural heritage with his athletic ambitions.
