In 1990s Sheffield, England, six unemployed men, four former steel workers, form a male striptease act to make money and for Gaz's son Nathan, who he wants to see. Gaz declares that their show will be much better than the Chippendales because they will go "the full monty" - strip all the way. The group, including Dave, Lomper, Gerald, Horse, and Guy, rehearse and eventually secure a one-night-only gig at a local club, with Gaz's son Nathan in tow. The act is a success, and the film balances humor with serious themes such as unemployment, depression, and body image.
