In a pre-Code pseudo-documentary exploitation film, an expedition ventures into the heart of the Belgian Congo jungle to investigate reports of a gorilla-worshipping tribe, only to find themselves in the midst of a disturbing ritual where African women are given over to gorillas as sex slaves. Filmed mostly in Los Angeles using American actresses in blackface, the film trades heavily on its nudity and suggestive content, masquerading as an authentic ethnographic documentary. Despite being heavily questioned for its authenticity, Ingagi remains a fascinating and notorious example of early exploitation cinema.
