In this 1968 B horror-thriller, an intrepid CIA agent tracks down a series of gruesome murders linked to reanimated corpses and solar-powered killer robot zombies created by "devilishly mad" astro-scientist Dr. DeMarco (John Carradine). With a low budget of just $37,000, director Ted V. Mikels brings this unique blend of sci-fi and horror to the screen, but unfortunately, the results are more cringe-worthy than compelling. Despite its cult following and influence on later films, The Astro-Zombies remains a mess of a movie, marred by poor production values, dull scenes, and subpar acting.
