The Hand That Rocks the Cradle

Claire Bartel, played by Annabella Sciorra, hires Rebecca De Mornay as Peyton Flanders to look after her newborn son Joey. Initially, Peyton appears kind and helpful but soon manipulates the family, exploiting their marriage issues and causing cracks in their daily life. The family's young daughter Emma, played by Madeline Zima, becomes suspicious of Peyton's true intentions, while the intellectually disabled handyman Solomon, played by Ernie Hudson, secretly watches over the family, aiding them when needed.
