The Hunter

Martin David (Willem Dafoe) is sent from Europe by an anonymous biotech company to the Tasmanian wilderness on a hunt for the last Tasmanian tiger. Posing as a university biologist, Martin lodges in the home of Lucy Armstrong and her two young children, with whom he slowly befriends. During his excursions into the bush, Martin discovers clues about the tiger's location and uncovers a dark secret about Red Leaf, the company that hired him to kill the creature. In the end, Martin reluctantly shoots the thylacine and sets out to protect its surviving offspring.
