That Cold Day in the Park

Frances Austen (Sandy Dennis) invites a mute teenager into her luxurious Vancouver apartment after finding him freezing in the park next to where she lives. Despite his silent nature, he appears to understand everything she says and becomes increasingly trapped in her obsessive world of loneliness and possessiveness. As their relationship spirals out of control, Frances buys him new clothes, locks him in the spare room, and even tries to engage him in sex, but ultimately takes a dark and sinister turn when she kills a prostitute who is meant to be his companion.
