Belle & Sebastian

In 1943, in the French Alps, Sébastien is a seven year old orphan living with César, an adoptive "grandfather" and his niece, Angélina. The resourceful boy tames and befriends a giant, wild mountain dog, Belle – even though the villagers believe her to be ‘the beast’ that has been killing their sheep. Sébastien cleans her and names her "Belle". As they spend more time together, Sébastien decides to keep his new friendship with Belle a secret to protect her. Meanwhile, a German patrol, commanded by Lieutenant Peter Braun, arrives in Saint-Martin to put an end to the secret escape route of the Jews. Sébastien finds himself caught up in a dramatic and dangerous adventure as he navigates his loyalty to César, his love for Belle, and his desire to protect those around him.
