In post-War Madrid, a Spanish farm family's emigration to the city becomes a struggle for survival amidst an unforgiving urban landscape where everything is illegal or immoral. The Pérez family faces numerous challenges, from finding housing and employment to being entangled in the dark world of black markets and exploitation.
