In 1919 Chicago, amidst racial tensions and turmoil, a millionaire theater owner disappears during a snowstorm, leaving behind only questions and an otherworldly sense of unease. Gorgeous black-and-white cinematography underscores the city's dark past, while intentional anachronisms and postmodern vision give the film an eerie quality.
