Boy on a Dolphin

In this 1957 romantic adventure film set in Greece, Sophia Loren stars as Phaedra, a poor sponge diver who discovers an ancient brass and gold statue of a boy riding a dolphin on the bottom of the Aegean Sea. As she tries to sell it to the highest bidder, Phaedra finds herself caught between two competing individuals: Dr. James Calder, an honest archaeologist who wants to return the statue to Greek authorities, and Victor Parmalee, an aesthete with ulterior motives.
