L'Age d'Or

The film "L'Age d'Or" is a surrealist satirical comedy that tells the story of a man and woman's passionate love, thwarted by bourgeois values and the Catholic Church. The couple creates a disturbance at a religious ceremony, and their attempts to consummate their passion are constantly sabotaged by societal norms. The film consists of a series of tightly interlinked vignettes, including an orgy in a castle, where the surviving orgiasts emerge to mainstream society. The final image is a Christian cross festooned with the scalps of women, accompanied by jovial music.
