Ganglamedo

In this enchanting 2006 Tibetan musical drama, two generations of young women become entwined in a mystical tale of love and loss, as they embody the hauntingly beautiful folk song "Ganglamedo." A local girl who sings Ganglamedo in Tibet vanishes on her wedding eve, only to be rediscovered sixty years later by a Chinese singer seeking her lost voice. As An Yu's journey unfolds, she discovers an unexpected connection to Lamu, the very woman whose name is synonymous with the magical song - and perhaps a beautiful curse has been bestowed upon them all.
