Swallowtail Butterfly

In a gritty, alternate-future Tokyo, the city's strong yen currency attracts an influx of immigrants, earning it the nickname "Yen Town", while its Japanese natives despise them and call them "Yentowns". Set against this backdrop of social upheaval, Swallowtail Butterfly follows a 16-year-old girl, Ageha, who navigates a complex web of crime, music, and identity under the care of her Chinese Yentown prostitute mother substitute, Glico.
