Police Tactics

In fall 1963, Japan's police crack down on yakuza activities nationwide as the government prepares for the 1964 Summer Olympics. Boss Shozo Hirono (Bunta Sugawara) and his associates recruit new bosses to their side amidst a war between the Yamamori Family and the Shinwa Group against an alliance of the Uchimoto, Akashi, and Makihara Families. The police put pressure on the gangs, leading to assassinations, gangland killings, and a crackdown that forces Hirono's weakened family to regroup. As the violence escalates, the authorities arrest several high-ranking bosses, including Uchimoto (Kunie Tanaka), Yamamori (Toshio Kurosawa), and Eda (Shingo Yamashiro).
