28 Days Later

A group of animal rights activists infiltrate a laboratory in Cambridge housing abnormally aggressive chimpanzees. They release one of the chimps, which is highly contagious and spreads rapidly across Great Britain, causing societal collapse. Twenty-eight days later, Jim, a bicycle courier who awakens from a coma to find London deserted, discovers the aftermath of a massacre and teams up with survivors Selena, Frank, and Hannah to try and protect themselves from the infected humans. As they travel together, they encounter Major Henry West, who plans to use them for his own twisted purposes, leading Jim to escape and eventually exact revenge on those responsible.
