I Walk the Line

In this gritty neo-noir drama, Gregory Peck stars as Sheriff Henry Tawes, a middle-aged lawman in rural Tennessee who finds himself torn between his mundane life and a forbidden love affair with a young woman, Alma McCain (Tuesday Weld), the daughter of a local moonshiner. As their illicit relationship deepens, Henry's moral character is put to the test when he is tempted to conceal Carl McCain's (Ralph Meeker) crimes in order to prolong his relationship with Alma.
