Haunted by his tragic past, Jack LeBlanc (Henry Frost), a heavily-scarred introvert, volunteers for a Phase I clinical trial of a miraculous new tissue regeneration medication, dubbed "Obsidian." Under the watchful surveillance of respected pharmacologist Dr. James Walsh (Frank R. Wilson), Jack and the group of hopeful volunteers soon experience hellish side effects from the drug.
