Divided We Fall

In 1943 Czechoslovakia, Josef Čížek, a childless couple's husband, hides Jewish refugee David Wiener in his apartment's secret pantry to aid his former employer's son. As the war approaches, Josef, aware of the danger he has brought upon himself and his neighbors, faces both German persecution and suspicion from his own fellow Czechs. Characterized by its complex portrayal of moral ambiguity, the film follows Josef, Marie, and David as they navigate their precarious situation amidst the chaos of World War II.
