Scabbard Samurai

In feudal Japan, aging samurai Kanjuro Nomi (Takaaki Nomi) is sentenced to a 30-day punishment if he can bring a smile to the sad prince who has lost his mother. With the help of his daughter Tae (Sea Kumada) and guards, Kanjuro devises various stunts to amuse the prince, but his efforts consistently fail, leading to his dignity being stripped away with each passing day. As the deadline approaches, Tae discovers a note from her father that defies death and exhorts her to embrace life.
