Rapture

"Rapture," a 1965 drama film directed by John Guillermin, tells the story of Agnes Larbaud (Patricia Gozzi), a lonely teenage girl living on a farm in Brittany, France with her retired widower father Frederick (Melvyn Douglas) and caretaker Karen (Gunnel Lindblom). After witnessing a prison bus crash, Agnes befriends an escaped convict, Joseph (Dean Stockwell), whom she hides from the police. As their relationship develops, Agnes struggles to manage her life while Frederick objects, ultimately leading to a tragic confrontation that ends in Joseph's death.
