In 1953, during the ceasefire of the Korean War, South Korean battalion Alligator Company is fiercely battling over a hill on the front line border against North Korea to capture a strategic point that would determine the new border between two nations. Kang Eun-pyo, a seasoned officer, is dispatched to investigate the tacit case that's been happening there. Alongside Captain Jae-oh and new soldier Pvt. Nam Seong-shik, Eun-pyo arrives at the front lines amidst chaos and moral ambiguity, where war orphans live among the soldiers, discipline is lax, and mental health of some men is questionable. As they try to uncover an apparent mole, they discover a surprising gift exchange between the opposing sides - a storage for captured soldiers who traded insults before evolving into exchanging pleasant letters and presents.
