What the Deaf Man Heard

In the 1940s, a young boy named Sammy boards a bus with his deceased mother, who leaves him to sleep and abandons him in a small Georgia town. The locals, convinced that he is deaf and mute, decide that silence offers some power and protection, allowing Sammy to listen in on the town's secrets without being detected. Over two decades, Sammy lives quietly among the townspeople, hearing their deepest confessions and manipulating those who think they can exploit his supposed deafness, ultimately exposing a web of deceit and corruption that leads to justice.
