In 1940s America, Lawrence (James Earl Jones), an elderly clockmaker, faces racism and is falsely accused of murder when a racist is killed. However, Kevin Kilner's character, David Parkin, comes forward to claim self-defense, claiming he committed the crime. Meanwhile, David's family life unravels as his daughter contracts meningitis. As tensions rise, faith is tested in this drama set against the backdrop of racial tension and social injustice.
