The Great Smokey Roadblock

Henry Fonda stars as Elegant John, a 60-year-old truck driver who steals back his repossessed semi and embarks on one final cross-country run with Beebo Crozier (Robert Englund), a hitchhiker heading to Florida, and Madam Penelope (Eileen Brennan) and her six prostitutes. As they attempt to outrun the law and earn money along the way, they encounter various obstacles and characters in Missouri, including Harley Davidson, a renegade country cop. The film follows their antics as they try to make one last haul across the country with John's illness starting to take its toll.
