The Phantom of the Opera

In 1910s Paris, a young soprano Christine Daaé becomes the obsession of a disfigured and murderous musical genius known as the Phantom, who lives beneath the Paris Opera House. Gerard Butler stars as the Phantom, with Emmy Rossum as Christine and Patrick Wilson as Raoul de Chagny, her childhood sweetheart and later love interest. The Phantom's tragic backstory, revealed through flashbacks, humanizes his villainous character, while his masked persona remains a haunting presence throughout the film.
