In the film "The Day of Destruction", a mysterious monster is found in a rural coal mine, leading to rumors of a plague spreading through a small town, causing unexplained mental illness. A young Shugendo practitioner, Teppei Sekiya (Kiyohiko Shibukawa), sets out on a mission to exorcise the world from its monsters.
