The Postman

In 2013, a nomad named Shakespeare travels across a post-apocalyptic United States in search of food and water, performing long-forgotten Shakespearean plays for trade. He stumbles upon an abandoned United States Postal Service Jeep and dons the postal uniform, claiming to be from a restored U.S. federal government. The Postman inspires a teenager, Ford Lincoln Mercury, who he swears in as a postal carrier and helps reopen a post office, sparking a movement to restore the United States that challenges the rule of a tyrannical warlord led by General Bethlehem.
