When Canadian editor-in-chief Margaret Tate learns she's in danger of losing her visa status and being deported, she forces her long-suffering personal assistant Andrew Paxton to marry her, convincing him that their sham engagement is a ruse to avoid deportation and allow her to stay in the US. As they travel to Andrew's hometown of Sitka, Alaska, Margaret must confront her own emotional baggage and learn to open up to those around her, including Andrew's family and his ex-girlfriend. With its hilarious banter, heartwarming moments, and picturesque Alaskan backdrop, The Proposal is a classic rom-com that will keep you laughing and rooting for the unlikely couple at its center.
