Ephraim's Rescue

Ephraim's Rescue tells the true story of Ephraim Hanks, a rescuer of the Martin Handcart company, and his journey to join the LDS Church. As he becomes a prominent member of the church, Ephraim (Darin Southam) joins forces with Thomas Dobson (James Gaisford), who has been convinced by his mother Alice (Katherine Nelson) to embark on a perilous handcart mission to Zion (Utah). With the help of his wife Alice and brother Sidney (not mentioned in this description, but played by Richard Benedict as an older Ephraim Hanks), Ephraim embarks on one of the most heroic rescues in American history.
