Runt

Cal, a teenage boy from a poor family, dedicates himself to his studies after being courted by UCLA for a scholarship. His only friend is Runt, his dog, and later, Cecily, a fellow teenager who becomes his ally in a downward cycle of violence. As Cal navigates his senior year of high school, he faces threats from Vic, the quarterback's girlfriend's boyfriend, who bullies him mercilessly. In response, Cal seeks revenge, but with unexpected help from Cecily and Ronnie, leading to a violent confrontation that changes everything.
