Once in a Summer

In this poignant South Korean drama, an assistant promises her renowned professor, Suk-Young, to convince him to appear on their television series, which helps locate long-lost persons. The journey takes them back 50 years, to 1969, where Suk-Young and his classmates travel to a small village in search of modern technology amidst the turmoil of President Park Chung Hee's dictatorship. There, they meet Jung-in, a beautiful librarian who becomes the object of Suk-Young's affections, but her dark secrets threaten to upend their blossoming romance.
