The Sapphires

In 1968 Australia, four young, talented Aboriginal girls learn about love, friendship, and war when they entertain the US troops in Vietnam as singing group The Sapphires. Discovered by a talent scout, the girls form a music group and travel to Vietnam to sing for troops during the war, but infighting among the women threatens to tear the group apart. Along the way, they face personal struggles, cultural identity crises, and the harsh realities of war, all set against the vibrant backdrop of 1960s soul music. The film is a powerful and poignant portrayal of female empowerment, love, and resilience in the face of adversity.
