In the sweltering heat of Alabama's summer of '86, a rebel daughter trades in her preacher's duties for a life of rock 'n' roll rebellion, joining a touring Xian hair metal band on an adventure that will test her faith, her friends, and herself. A coming-of-age story with pointed satire on Christian popular culture, "Electric Jesus" is a hilarious, charming romp through the neon-tinged landscape of 1980s youth. With a talented cast of relative newcomers and veterans alike, this film is a nostalgic ode to the era's music and humor, reminiscent of "Almost Famous" and "Saved!"
