Held for Ransom

"Held for Ransom" is a 2019 Danish biographical drama film based on Puk Damsgård's book about Danish photojournalist Daniel Rye (Esben Smed), who was held hostage by ISIS for 13 months alongside several foreign nationals, including American journalist James Foley (Toby Kebbell). The film follows Daniel's struggle to survive in captivity and the nightmare of his family back home as they try to secure his release.
