The Tale of Despereaux

In a fantastical medieval kingdom, a brave and virtuous mouse named Despereaux dares to dream of becoming a knight despite being shunned by his own community for having "lofty ambitions". Banished from home, Despereaux embarks on an epic adventure with his unlikely friend Roscuro, a rat who leads him on a noble quest to rescue the endangered Princess Pea and save their kingdom from darkness. Along the way, they forge an unlikely friendship that blossoms in the midst of war, danger, and betrayal, as Despereaux confronts his own doubts and fears to prove himself as a hero worthy of honor and redemption.
