The Colour Room

In 1920s Britain, pioneering ceramic artist Clarice Cliff (Phoebe Dynevor) defies conventions to rise to prominence in Stoke-on-Trent's pottery industry. Despite facing resistance and Victorian perceptions of women's design tastes, she perseveres, learning different skills and eventually becoming apprenticed to designer Fred Ridgeway (Matthew Goode). With her talent and determination, Cliff creates innovative Art Deco designs that become a huge success, thanks in part to clever marketing aimed at women. Her career is marked by both personal triumphs and struggles, including an affair with her boss Colley Shorter (Matthew Goode) who eventually becomes her husband.
