In 1943, hundreds of thousands of men from French North Africa's colonial empire join the French Army to fight alongside Allied forces and liberate occupied France. Forged into an elite unit, these soldiers, known as "indigènes," face institutional discrimination and racism, and are relegated to menial tasks. Despite the bravery and sacrifices they make in combat, their contributions are often overlooked by their European comrades. The film tells a powerful and forgotten story of heroism and struggle, shedding light on the unsung heroes of France's World War II.
