My Brilliant Life

My Brilliant Life is a 2014 South Korean drama film about two teenagers who have a son suffering from progeria, a rare genetic disorder that causes accelerated aging. As the child, Ah-reum, faces his own mortality at 16, he writes a book about his parents' love story to leave behind as a gift on his 17th birthday. Director E J-yong's film follows Dae-soo and Mi-ra as they struggle to care for their son while trying to make ends meet and cope with the devastating reality of his impending death, which ultimately leads to a heartwarming documentary about Ah-reum and his connection with another sick child.
