"A Summer Tale" (2000) is a comedy-drama that tells the story of Mårten, a young boy, and Annika, a rough girl, who are taken in by Yngve Johansson during their summer holidays in 1958. The two children initially dislike Yngve, but as they spend more time together, they begin to appreciate his kind heart and discover that they have more in common than they thought. With the help of Mårten and Annika, Yngve develops a crush on their teacher Miss Svanström, leading to an unexpected journey of self-discovery and growth for all three characters.
