Chilling brilliance awaits in "Mad Love", a 1935 body horror film based on Maurice Renard's novel "The Hands of Orlac". Brilliant surgeon Dr. Gogol is infatuated with Horror Theatre star Yvonne Orlac and buys a life-sized mannequin of her, dreaming of bringing the wax figure to life like Pygmalion did with Galatea. When Stephen Orlac's hands are destroyed in a train accident, Yvonne pleads with Gogol to help save his well-being, leading him to graft on the hands of a recently executed murderer, a killer whose specialty was knives.
