The Way Way Back

A coming-of-age flick that meshes elements of films like "The Squid and the Whale" (2005), “The Summer of '42” (1971) and "The Way, Way Back" is a 2013 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash. The film tells the story of Duncan, an introverted 14-year-old who goes on summer vacation to Wareham, Massachusetts, with his mother Pam, her wealthy boyfriend Trent, and Trent's spoiled daughter Steph, where he finds a quasi-mentor at the local water park and develops a friendship with the cute neighbor girl.
