Holly Grant has learned to rely on her own matchmaking skills after a childhood wish for Santa Claus to bring her a boyfriend went unfulfilled. Twenty years later, she's a romantic skeptic, but when a handsome stranger arrives with a Christmas tree and a bow on his chest, she assumes it's a gag gift from a friend. However, as the evening unfolds, she discovers that this mysterious suitor is actually Ryan Hughes, a lawyer sent by Santa Claus to help her find love - or so he claims.
