Devil and the Deep

Tallulah Bankhead stars as Diana Sturm, unhappily married to naval commander Charles Sturm (Charles Laughton), whose jealousy and possessive behavior drive her to the arms of a handsome lieutenant, Lt. Sempter (Gary Cooper). When Charles learns of their affair, he plots a particularly selfish form of revenge. The cast, including Cary Grant as Lt. Jaeckel, is strong but the script is meager.
