There Will Be Blood

Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), a ruthless oil prospector, moves to California and uses his adopted son H.W. to project a trustworthy image. Local preacher Eli Sunday (Paul Dano) suspects Daniel's motives and begins a feud that threatens their lives. The film follows the complex relationship between Daniel and Eli, as well as Daniel's ruthless pursuit of wealth in the oil industry during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
