A young man named Sam returns to his ex-girlfriend and true love, Annie, after she becomes increasingly depressed. As he tries to help her through her troubles, their love begins to bloom once again. Along the way, he meets various people in the building where Annie lives, including Tanya, Gretchen, Mr. Willens, and Annie herself, who is struggling with her own issues. As Sam searches for the source of Hope's depression, he also finds himself falling for Annie, but must confront his own feelings in order to help Hope truly heal.
